Rex USA Shower Head You can even make belts with paracord! Survivor founder Frank Sullivan is pissed one of his ex-bandmates is using the band's name and logo to promote his solo career ... even though he left the group THIRTY. FOUR. YEARS. AGO.

Not as pompous as Journey & Asia nor as poppy as Foreigner & REO Speedwagon, Survivor brand was more hard rock oriented, with big power chords, tight rhythms, and beautiful keyboard arrangements, they oozed class but rocked harder than a fair amount of their AOR peers, well aside from maybe Shooting Star, Def Leppard, etc. Survivor were also fairly influential in their genre, about as much as both Foreigner & Journey were at that, even though they don't get enough credit, influencing most of the early 90s acts such as Giant, Tyketto, and Harem Scarem along with acts that helped establish the genres return in the late 90s & 2000s such as Pride of Lions, Blanc Faces, H.E.A.T., and Steelhouse Lane, all of which are cult icons in the scene yet barely known outside of the genre's fan base. And forget Schon/Cain, Shaw/Blades, or Gramm/Jones, if you ask me Jim Peterik & Frankie Sullivan could be called the Lennon/McCartney of AOR. Writing such great anthems as "Burning Heart" and "Eye of the Tiger," pop classics like "High on You," "Is This Love," and "I Can't Hold Back," AOR classics like "Caught in the Game," "The One That Really Matters," "She's a Star," "Didn't Know It Was Love," "Poor Man's Son," and so on and so forth as well as some of the greatest AOR ballads like hits "The Search is Over" & "Man Against the World," beautifully transcendent ones "Across the Miles" & "Desperate Dreams" as well as the epic "Santa Ana Winds," all of which could be considered among the best power ballads ever written. I could almost give a majority of their songs because they are about as good if not better than anything Foreigner, Journey, Europe, Def Leppard, Magnum, or Toto ever did. And their albums are great and essential for any AOR fan. And the vocals? Forget about it. They had not one, but two of the best Melodic Rock singers in Jimi Jamison and David Bickler. A band criminally underrated that should deserve better than being known as the band that wrote songs that ended up in the "Rocky" movies. Forget Def Leppard, Journey, Foreigner, and Europe. Survivor are the rightful owners of the crown of "Kings of AOR." "
